Itinerary
Rabbito Cafe
Before your Bangkok canal tour departs, there is the possibility to have some refreshments at Rabbito Cafe (also the meeting point). Prices start from THB 79 for food. One drink per person and cookies to feed the rabbits are included in the tour price. Make sure you arrive in time to play with the rabbits that call this cafe their home and to see them do some tricks. There is free wifi available to share your cute rabbit photos with the world.
Check-In & Briefing
Your guide checks you in and informs you about the tour itinerary. Your guide also provides you with instructions about how to earn discount by posting on your social accounts.
Transport to the River Mouth
Travel by local transport to the mouth of the Chao Phraya river.
Wet Market
Explore the local wet market before boarding the boat to the Bangkok sea.
Fort with Ghost Cannons
Enjoy the river views and photograph the Pagoda in the Middle of the Water while taking a boat ride around Butterfly Island. Visit the island’s fort armed with ghost cannons and learn how the cannons got their name.
Flying Foxes
See thousands of flying foxes hanging head down from the branches of mangroves for a length of approximately 200m. The flying fox, whose face looks like a fox, is the world’s largest bat with a wingspan of up to 1m. Your guide leads you safely along a nature trail into the grove of nipa palm where the flying foxes can be seen.
Giant Warship
Visit the world’s second oldest battleship, including torpedo firing machine, deep water bombs and antiaircraft guns. You can visit every corner of the ship from the kitchen to the living quarters to the compass bridge with machine guns at the front.
Fort with Tunnels
Walk through the tunnels of another historical fort and learn about the Pak Nam incident that took place here. Around the fortress there can usually also some swimming monkeys be seen.
Sunken Village
Travel to the Sunken Village, a Thai village that has disappeared behind the rising and advancing sea. See the telephone poles that mark the sight of what was once a seaside road and discover what the people on surfboards out at sea are actually doing.
Temple in the Sea
Visit the Temple in the Sea, an ordinary temple with an extraordinary history. While other buildings have moved further inland up to 5 times within the last generations, it is the temple alone that refused to relocate and now serves as a symbol for the fight against the rising waters. Learn about the measures that had to be taken to protect the temple against the rising sea while visiting this great ecotourism attraction that eco enthusiasts definitely should not miss.
Border Marker
See the border marker that once stood on land, but that is now out at sea.
Restaurant in the Sea
Enjoy delicious seafood from the Restaurant in the Sea, which is basically a big platform built on stilts in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand. Not only the food is good here, but also the views and it easily counts for one of Bangkok’s most unique eating experiences. Prices start from THB 80 for food and THB 15 for drinks. There are also a few non-seafood dishes on their menu for the ones who do not like seafood.
Boat Ride through Canals
Take a boat ride through several peaceful and pleasant side canals. Learn how the villagers make use of the tides to catch fish while keeping an eye out for oysters, giant walking fish and crabs. During this ride there can be seen many beautiful birds resting at the base of palm trees and sometimes we even see otters playing happily in the water here.
Evaluation & Goodbye
Evaluate your Bangkok canal tour and say goodbye to your guide and the other travellers in the group. Your guide helps you to get back to your accommodation or any other place you would like to go from Samrong BTS Station.
